Project TAP

Targeting our Aquifer Program (TAP), Phase III

 

The TAP III program is a project designed to help protect ground water in Colquitt, Thomas, and Worth counties. The objective of the program is to promote the voluntary implementation of agricultural Best Management Practices to help reduce sources of nonpoint source pollution arising from agricultural activities. The implementation of these practices will be promoted through financial and technical assistance along with educational and outreach activities. Cost-share funding is made available to producers on a competitive basis from a Section 319(h) grant from the Georgia EPD.

 

TAP III works very closely with the local USDA-NRCS offices to assure that all practices meet the necessary requirements. The Best Management Practices that are being promoted are:
