EJFI

The Environmental Justice Farmers' Initiative provides cost-share assistance to socially disadvantaged producers wanting to improve water quality on their land. A series of field days, workshops, and demonstrations will also be used to inform producers on the best ways to protect water resources.

The project is being "piloted" in a three region area of Georgia with the potential to be expanded into other states.

The EJFI project is a collaborative effort between the Golden Triangle RC&D Council, USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service(NRCS), Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)-Region 4, and Fort Valley State University Cooperative Extension Service. The EJFI Program is funded through a NRCS Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative Grant.
